RDC served as the Architect of Record and Design Architect for ALDI’s newest location in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 24,786-square-foot store represents ALDI’s continued expansion in the region, marking their fourth store opening in the state.

This project presented a unique redevelopment opportunity—transforming a former 99¢ Only Store into a modern ALDI supermarket. The existing structure lacked key operational features such as a loading dock, requiring creative design solutions. RDC addressed this challenge by integrating a new elevated loading dock and internal ramp system to support deliveries and streamline store operations.

To redefine the building’s identity, RDC implemented a comprehensive façade transformation using new materials, finishes, paint, and storefront design. The result is a distinctly branded ALDI exterior that reflects the company’s modern aesthetic and commitment to community presence.

Sustainability was a core focus of the redevelopment. The Las Vegas store utilizes a propane refrigeration system—a natural refrigerant with a low global warming potential—aligning with ALDI’s leadership in environmental responsibility. This initiative complements ALDI’s broader sustainability goals, including waste reduction, sustainable sourcing, and corporate environmental stewardship.
