Grocery Stores Dive Deeper into Design to Encourage Longer Visits
🏪 As Architect of Record for Erewhon, RDC is helping redefine grocery store design—creating more than just a place to shop, but a place where shoppers dwell, discover, and interact. This trend is transforming how people experience grocery shopping. Erewhon aisles are typically 4.5 to 5 feet wide—much narrower than the industry standard of 6.5 feet—according to Terry Todd, Principal and Architect at RDC.
“Erewhon wants people to bump into each other and run into employees who can answer questions about their products,” RDC Principal Terry Todd told CoStar News.
