Sin Semilla is envisioned as a cannabis dispensary rooted in a richly layered, Latin-inspired narrative, blending luxury hospitality with a bold retail experience. Working within the constraints of an existing retail space, the design strategically retains the original layout, anchored by a central experience and an existing check-in area to reduce construction costs while maximizing operational efficiency.

The design vision draws from a juxtaposition of luxury hospitality and the language of narco-modernism, resulting in a bold, immersive retail environment. Masculine elements are expressed through a palette of rich materials, custom finishes, and artisanal details, while lush greenery softens the experience and introduces moments of contrast. A custom lion mural and bespoke wallcoverings reference the brand’s identity, while sculptural elements, including wall-mounted skulls, reinforce an expressive design ethos.

The storefront façade was reimagined to reflect the project’s Latin influences, introducing texture, warmth, and a distinct visual identity. A custom Saguaro cactus planter anchors the entry, establishing a sculptural sense of place that draws visitors inward. This moment of arrival unfolds into a heightened check-in experience, where an innovative ceiling treatment integrates greenery with lighting to create a dynamic and memorable experience.

Sustainability and efficiency informed key design decisions, including the adaptive reuse of existing retail display fixtures. These elements were refinished in a new wood tone to align with the updated material palette, reducing waste while maintaining design cohesion.
