RDC served as Architect of Record for Erewhon West Hollywood, a 23,000-square-foot transformation of an existing multi-level building into a refined, experience-driven retail grocery environment. The design adapts the structure to support Erewhon’s program, carving out interior space to introduce an inset outdoor seating area, an essential component that the original building could not accommodate.

The project balances functionality with flexibility. While the primary footprint serves Erewhon, the remaining square footage was reconfigured into a leasable tenant space, overcoming challenges including limited window access and a significant elevation change from the sidewalk.

Rooted in modern minimalism, the interior features custom ceramic tile, European white oak trim, and sculptural ceiling accents. Sustainable systems, including CO₂ refrigeration, high-efficiency lighting, and mechanical systems, reinforce Erewhon’s environmental commitment.

As the brand’s 11th location, the store introduces unique elements tailored to its West Hollywood setting, including a refrigerated floral case with curated bouquets and in-store kiosks that streamline ordering for on-the-go customers.
