Originally designed in 1948 by S. Charles Lee, the Bay Theater is a historical element in Pacific Palisades, an affluent neighborhood situated between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Monica mountains. Today, the theater is operated by Cinépolis, one of the largest luxury cinema brands around the world.

When designing the theater, RDC considered the coastal neighborhood and crafted an intimate collection of five screening rooms connected to a beach-resort themed community lounge. Each aspect of the guest experience was choreographed from arrival into a “coastal living room” to the concierge greeting, cocktail bar, and finally the reserved seating auditorium.

Throughout the building, a select palette of warm, weathered wood is accented with brass metal screens, with integrated lighting along feature walls to highlight the subtle neutral materials. The luxe theater features plush reclining seats, seat-side food and beverage services and state-of-the-art projection and sound. Cinepolis Pacific Palisades elevates the benchmark of customer experience, regional composition and creates a welcome destination for the community.
