Branko Prebanda
Senior Principal Branko Prebanda joined the firm at its inception in 1979 and was named principal in 1997. He leads the Retail Studio at RDC, working specifically with some of the world’s largest retailers. He has leveraged his experience to create streamlined processes that achieve project goals and best meet the needs of national retailers for ground-up, renovation and expansion efforts.
Sean Slater, AIA
Senior Principal
Sean Slater is the leader of RDC’s San Diego office where he serves as Principal-in-Charge for several high-profile projects. He is a Senior Principal of the firm’s Placemaking group, collaborating firmwide with architects, planners and interior designers on mixed-use development. Sean joined RDC in 2016 after spending over twenty years practicing architecture in Berkeley, Atlanta and Austin.
Derek Heeb, AIA
Senior Studio Director / Associate Principal
Derek brings a passion for “place” to the practice of architecture. With more than two decades of experience in a range of commercial, residential and entertainment projects, the common thread in Derek’s work is a need to create meaningful experiences in which the quality of “being there” ads value beyond the programmed occupancies. As a leader of RDC’s Placemaking Studio, Derek brings together the three pillars of full-service architecture: design, technical knowledge, and project management. Derek enjoys working with clients to guide them through the architectural process, helping them to develop their design inspersions into project realities. “I believe that architecture is the service of design”.
Terry Todd
Senior Studio Director / Associated Principal
Associate Principal Terry Todd is the co-leader of the firm’s retail and grocery store practice area. Terry joined RDC in 1995 and since that time, has focused on architecture and design services for anchor retailers and shopping centers, developing an extensive knowledge and perspective on creating retail that serves the daily needs of local and regional communities. Terry is known for his thoughtful and responsive and approach to client projects. He offers clients in-depth technical knowledge that serves complex urban locations and suburban locations alike.
Sean Unsell
Senior Studio Director / Associated Principal
Associate Principal Sean Unsell is co-leader of RDC’s retail and grocery work group. Sean joined the firm in 1988, and since that time, has worked exclusively with many major retail tenants including Target, Best Buy, Kohls, Albertsons, and ALDI. Award-winning work under his direction includes Erewhon’s Santa Monica store, the renovation of Brea Marketplace and LEED Gold Certification at Plaza Pacoima. He excels in the ability to adapt national retailers’ brands to site conditions for successful store rollout programs. Sean leads his work group to meet multiple deadlines while upholding quality.
Sing Tong, AIA, RIBA, LEED AP, BD+C
Project Architect / Senior Associate
Sing is a licensed architect experienced in managing the design and execution of various project typologies including: cinemas, high-end hospitality hotels and culinary collections, luxury fitness, luxury retail, entertainment and mixed-use retail projects. She specializes in bespoke design and provides quality design, planning, coordination and illustration with her signature detail oriented approach.
William Ellsworth
Senior Designer / Associate
William’s architectural interest meets at the intersection of design and technology. Specializing in parametric design and fabrication, he brings a contemporary view of architecture.
