Foundation of Successful Retail Convenience
Speed To Market
Our goals are rooted in budgetary and speed to market efficiencies. This means that our processes, tools, and organizational structures have all been tailored to achieve a better speed-to-market output than our competitors. Our firm’s 40 year old reputation hinges on and in large part was created on this premise.
Ongoing Communication
At the beginning of each project, RDC’s project manager will establish a team kick-off meeting that opens the clear channels of communication. Subsequent recurring meetings times and formats will also be determined early in the process. Open, frequent internal communication with the client, consultants and jurisdictions ensures all parties are on track and sharing knowledge. Meetings held at regular intervals are structured and documented. RDC maintains an internal program management database tracking all project data in relation to timelines, milestones, quality and cost. This allows RDC to provide timely reports showing the status of all projects in a simple and easy-to-read format. Our team uses both email and slack to coordinate projects, to respond to RFIs and on-site inquiries, change orders and requests for payments as required.
Prototype Templates
Template standards are at the core of our work process. RDC exclusively uses Revit software to prepare documents, as this is the most efficient platform for repetitive modeling. Production on initial locations is developed in such a way that it can be transposed without conflict into future locations. Subsequent locations benefit from the modeling of the prior. So over time, we see decreased production time and accelerated document deliveries.
Third Party Vendor Coordination
The RDC team is experienced with large volume jobs that require coordination across multiple vendors. Using Revit, we share, collaborate and vision together with the thirdparty vendors necessary to bring our clients vision to life. Revit improves collaboration and communication between the disciplines. Coordination is improved with alerts of clash detections to minimize errors and save cost. Our pipeline tracking sheet helps us proactively manage deliverable from vendors, and make it our responsibility to obtain the necessary information, when required, to stay on schedule.
Leadership
Internally, our senior-most leaders represent a collective of over 500 years of retail expertise. Externally, our team leads the consortium of specialists needed to roll-out, design and execute your work. We insisted that “collaboration” be included as part of our name. While we excel at leading complex teams of consultants, we really love to collaborate. We lead teams to exceed expectations.
Permitting
RDC team members are experienced in the coordination of permitting and governmental approvals. We will determine deliverables early and apply applicable information to the documents throughout the production phase. RDC is able to directly manage the permitting process (if requested). When working with Permit Expeditors, we will quickly provide modifications to documents when required to gain approvals, create and make presentations for jurisdictional boards when required, and manage the occupancy and opening approval process. Our national experience further allows us to identify efficiencies within jurisdictions and within similar property types.
Quality Assurance
One of the most common pitfalls to up-end the speed of a roll out program is designing during construction. The RDC team has years of hands-on experience with roll-out programs, so we can serve as AOR/consultant to during the conceptual design and schematic phases of each location in an effort to bridge information between the site investigation, documentation and construction phases. We will help identify potential pitfalls and ensure the original design intent can be maintained. Identifying these conflicts early on will keep design out of the construction phase and keep budgets and timelines on track.
National Presence
We work around the nation because our clients take us there. We’ve worked in nearly every state in the Union, and have a deep grasp on what it takes to deliver on permitting and entitlements. We have worked in some of the most difficult regions and cities, and have a proven track record of efficient outcome. With our 5 offices in the United States – we aim to leverage that expertise to assist our clients in a greater potential nation-wide.
