Skanska Downtown Los Angeles Office

Los Angeles, CA | Workplace | Interiors

Client: Skanska
Size: 13,000 SF

RDC’s Interior Design group worked with Skanska to create the firm’s new Downtown Los Angeles regional hub. This special opportunity expanded on a global office program reflective of the company’s authentic culture, placing it within the context of the City of Los Angeles. The design integrates the construction and development firm’s unique social and collaborative culture with interiors that reflect the firm’s mission to build for a better society, while embracing its values to care for life and be better-together.

Guiding the design was a focus on minimizing environmental impact while enhancing the user experience. The project included a prioritization of indoor air quality, lighting, and creating comfortable gathering spaces within an efficient office environment.  The space was LEED Gold and Fitwell certified.

Skanska’s office is located in the heart of Downtown LA in the US Bank Building. With the entire floor dedicated to the Skanska DTLA office, the new space takes advantage of the magnificent 360-degree, unobstructed views of greater Los Angeles from the office’s 68th floor location.

A range of large flexible spaces organize more intimate meeting spaces. Work clusters and huddle zones integrate as fluid collaborative spaces and opportunities for the Development and Construction teams. The main entry space, or “living room” is envisioned as a community gathering space to host events and showcase the company’s future-forward development and innovative construction practices.
