This new mixed-use development is located in the eastern portion of the existing Town & Country Shopping Center across the street from Los Angeles’ iconic Farmers Market and The Grove at 3rd and Fairfax. The redevelopment replaces this portion of the center with the new construction of a mid-rise, eight story mixed-use structure that offers 331 residential units, parking, and commercial and retail uses. Phased repositioning of the existing retail center features a CVS, Whole Foods Market along with a K-Mart Store and vacant bank building. Phase I on the west side of the property envisions the façade renovation and expansion of the Whole Foods store and CVS facade along with the repurposing of the corner bank pad into retail and potential café and surface parking lot upgrade. Phase II will demolish the existing K-Mart building and be replaced with four stories of residential over two levels of 120,000 SF retail on the north side and three levels of above grade parking and five levels of residential. The east side will also feature two levels of subterranean parking in addition to the Phase I surface parking upgrades. RDC is working in collaboration with the residential architect, MVE, creating the retail and commercial portion of the project.
